Module 7 Case Study Assignment

Q Module 7Case Study Assignment Case Study Analysis In this assignment, you have one case to analyze. Please answer the questions that follow the case. There are several key things to keep in mind: The title of the assignment does not necessarily capture an accurate diagnosis of the situation or cluster of symptoms. These are incomplete situations and you may decide to reference a different disorder in the DSM-5 than the one in the title or mentioned in the situation. This is to reflect the reality of the presentation of disorders in a real clinical setting. Most clients and patients enter a clinical setting with a general idea or label/name for what they are experiencing. It may be clinically relevant or may be clinically incorrect. With clinical information being almost immediately accessible due to the Internet and other forms of education (e.g., social media), much of a clinical interview requires corrective teaching or curious investigation about what the words being used actually represent and symbolize in behavioral presentation and sensation. This may be confusing or feel clear cut, depending on the situation and your own learning. The assignment is not to diagnose but to identify symptoms and behaviors that may lead to a diagnosis. Diagnosis is beyond your current level of learning and beyond your ethical capacity as a student without a license and without operating under someone with a license. Instead, we will be identifying behaviors or possible symptoms, not disorders, in these activities. Case for Analysis Evil Eye Questions to Answer: • What are your initial thoughts and what are follow up questions that you would ask to clarify the diagnostic picture? • What are ethical considerations that are relevant to the case and might impact the situation identified? • What are the observable markers, as defined by the DSM-5, that are found in the presented information? Answer each question as completely as possible. Your submission should conform to APA guidelines in the CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.). Include at least 2 scholarly references in addition to the course textbook. The CSU Global Library is a good place to find these references. The initial thought in this scenario would be first to get informed and gather necessary knowledge about South America, its customs and traditions. I also need to gain proper information about the ‘evil eye’ concept and how a person’s emotion or belief is attached to it. The age is also an important factor here. Holly is 52 years old and so that needs to handled with care. My follow up questions would be directed towards Holly as well as my supervisor for a better understanding of the case- Questions to Holly- a) Tell me something about your traditions, beliefs and why do you think this idea of evil eyes exist? b) For how long are you facing the symptoms? c) What is your reason from immigrating from South America? Were you mentally prepared or it happened against your wish?
